J. D. Vance stated that the United States participated in peace talks with Iran in good faith.
The Vice President made these remarks while addressing the media on the first night following more than 12 hours of peace negotiations held in Islamabad, Pakistan.
He noted that Iran did not agree to the conditions put forward by the United States, and as a result, no agreement was reached during the discussions between the two countries.
Emphasizing that halting Iran’s nuclear capabilities remains a primary objective, Vance further stated that the United States plans to withdraw from Pakistan after failing to secure an agreement through the peace talks.
Despite the outcome, he expressed appreciation to Pakistan for its role in facilitating and mediating the discussions.
