Two Sri Lankan scientists among the top 20 scientists in the world.  I Sri LankaLatest News

According to the ranking of China’s top microbiologists, two Sri Lankan scientists have been able to occupy the 11th and 15th places. Sri Lanka Latest News

Prof. Lakshman Samaranayake has got the 11th place and Prof. Malik Peers has got the 15th place.

According to a survey conducted by “Research.com”, the two professors have been ranked among 43,737 scientists in the world.

Both these professors are Emeritus Professors of the University of Peradeniya and are world renowned for their microbiological clinical work and have been awarded honorary doctorates by the University of Peradeniya for their contributions to medical research.

Professor Samaranayake is also the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong and under his leadership it became the number one dental school in the world in 2015 according to the QS World University Rankings. The clinical microbiology work of these scientists is known worldwide.
