Authorities have discovered the body of a young man under suspicious circumstances in a swamp near the Boralu Ela in Gal Hire, Batapola.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified by his mother as a 24-year-old resident of the Karandeniya area. Reports indicate that he had left home on the 16th to attend a wedding in Batapola but never returned. His mother subsequently lodged a complaint with the police regarding his disappearance.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the Wadduwa Police reported the discovery of another body on the Wadduwa beach. The deceased has been identified as a 50-year-old man residing in the Wadduwa area.
Both cases are currently under police investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
