The Türkiye Food Festival, held on October 24 at 7 p.m., became a vibrant display of Turkish heritage as attendees gathered to experience an array of Türkiye’s traditional flavors. In his opening speech, the Turkish ambassador His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut, highlighted the festival’s mission to celebrate Türkiye’s culinary diversity and strengthen cross-cultural ties.

The ambassador began by welcoming guests, expressing his enthusiasm for sharing Türkiye’s rich culinary traditions with an international audience. He noted that food is more than just sustenance; it is a symbol of unity, bridging diverse communities and creating bonds that transcend borders.

The event, a lively showcase of authentic Turkish dishes from baklava to kebabs, also served as a platform for artisans displaying traditional Turkish crafts. The ambassador emphasized that the festival celebrated not only food but also Türkiye’s vibrant culture and customs. “Through these events,” he stated, “we cultivate friendships and strengthen our diplomatic ties, which contribute positively to tourism and trade.”

He extended his appreciation to organizers, sponsors, and culinary artists whose contributions made the event possible, acknowledging their commitment to bringing the best of Turkish culture to the festival.

In closing, the ambassador invited guests to fully immerse themselves in the festival experience, promising an evening of unforgettable tastes, sights, and sounds. He expressed hopes that such events would continue, reinforcing cultural appreciation and understanding between Türkiye and the world.

The Türkiye Food Festival concluded with a positive outlook, inspiring attendees to explore Turkish culture further, whether through cuisine, craftsmanship, or future gatherings.

Galle Face hotel residential manager and the Turkish Airline residential manager too addressed the gathering.
