Trial Concludes: Verdict Pending in Rathupaswala Shooting Case Under Mahinda’s Government! VIDEO I Sri Lanka Latest News

The trial of the shooting of the residents of Gampaha Rathupaswala who demanded clean drinking water by the army has ended. Sri Lanka Latest News

The three-judge panel announced today that the verdict in this case will be announced on April 30.

Regarding the shooting incident in Rathupaswala, investigations were carried out under the direction of former Director of Criminal Investigation Department Shani Abeysekera and Senior DIG Ravi Senaviratne and four people including a brigadier were arrested.

After the indictment was filed in the Gampaha High Court against the four, the Chief Justice had appointed a three-member High Court bench to hear the case on the request of the Attorney General.

On August 1, 2013, three people, including two school students, were killed and nearly 50 were injured in the shooting and assault by the army.
