Treasury bill yields slightly up

Sri Lanka Treasury Bills rates were steady and T- bonds rates were up in moderate trade on Wednesday while the Central Bank’s guidance peg for interbank transactions strengthened by 14 cents, dealers said.

A bond maturing on 01. 06. 2025 closed at 28.30/29.30 percent on Wednesday, up from 28.25/29.00 percent on Tuesday.

A bond maturing on 15.05.2031 closed 28.00/30.00 percent, down from yesterday’s closing at 28.30/29.30 percent.

Three months’ bill closed at 32.00/35.00 percent up from 30.30/32.00 percent.

Treasury bill yields went up at this weeks auction.

Sri Lanka’s central bank announced a guidance peg for interbank transactions strengthened by 14 cents to 361.15 rupees against the US dollar on Wednesday from 361.29 rupees.

Data showed that commercial banks offered dollars for telegraphic transfers between 368.15 and 370.00 for small transactions.

Banks offered to buy inward remittances at 358.15 -359.00 rupees. (Colombo/ Aug 31/2022)
