24 minority youths representing 12 diverse political parties from Sri Lanka attended a 5-day training module on Innovative Leadership for Organization Growth and Excellence at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida from 23-27 February 2026. NIESBUD is a premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, engaged in training, consultancy, research, etc. in order to promote entrepreneurship and Skill Development.

The programme was designed to strengthen leadership effectiveness among participants navigating a rapidly evolving and complex global environment marked by technological disruptions, economic uncertainties, and shifting geopolitical dynamics. During the programme, the participants were exposed to a comprehensive blend of cutting-edge modern leadership concepts and hands-on experiential learning methodologies, including interactive workshops, case studies from global best practices, group simulations, and real-world problem-solving exercises.

Key thematic areas covered included: Innovative Leadership; Creative Thinking and structured approaches to innovation; Employee Engagement Strategies; Problem Solving through Design Thinking; Situational Leadership; and Emotional Intelligence. This holistic curriculum not only enhanced participants’ strategic capabilities but also empowered them to apply these insights directly to their political organizations for sustainable growth and excellence

The programme also involved cultural immersion through Visit to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort which provided participants with exposure to India’s cultural heritage and offered a platform for informal peer learning and cross-cultural understanding.

This is pursuant to the announcement made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his State Visit to Sri Lanka in April 2025, offering 700 customised slots annually for Sri Lankan professionals. The programme reinforces India’s commitment to skilling of Sri Lankan youths across political lines.
