The Railway Department has launched an investigation into a train driver who refused to operate a scheduled service, allegedly due to a delay in receiving his food parcel.
The incident occurred on a train scheduled to run from Kurunegala to Colombo Fort. The driver, reportedly frustrated over the late delivery of his meal, refused to take charge of the train and remained in the rest room. As a result, passengers were left stranded for hours, facing significant inconvenience.
Authorities are now looking into the matter to determine the appropriate course of action.
