Mr. Sajith Premadasa and Mr. Harsha de Silva, the leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, have emphasized that the Daily Mirror newspaper, owned by the family of Mr. Ruwan Wijayawardena, the Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Senior Advisor to the President, has published a completely false news in its lead story today.

Today, the Daily Mirror newspaper has reported in its original news that three SJB seniors Mr. Harsha de Silva, Kabir Hashim and Iran Wickramaratne are going to join the President and Mr. Harsha de Silva is going to have the position of Minister for Policy Implementation.

It is stated in the news that Mr. Iran Wickramaratne has not asked for a ministerial position and that the ministerial position to be given to Mr. Kabir Hashim is still being discussed.

Also, it is mentioned in the news that last night Mr. Sajith Premadasa gave a dinner to his MPs at the Imperial Monarch Hotel in Thalawathugoda, where he appealed to them not to join the government.

This news was written by Jamila Hussain, a journalist.

However, the leader of the opposition responded to this false news this morning  also Mr. Harsha de Silva had also taken steps to respond to this.

Accordingly, in a tweet, the leader of the opposition has stated that she should try to engage in real journalism next time.

Mr. Harsha de Silva has stated that it seems that the Daily Mirror newspaper knows about his personal life better than he does, and this news is completely imaginary.

Sajith’s Twitter post!

Sounds more like @Dailymirror_SL losing its grip on being relevant. Try real journalism next time. https://t.co/gqYzE1SGbk

Harsha’s twitter

Looks like the @Dailymirror_SL knows more about my life than myself. Yes, I said reforms are essential and current #SriLanka plan w @IMFLive is similar to our Blueprint except for their total lack of focus on social safety nets. But all of this stuff is pure conjecture 😁 pic.twitter.com/PTFVJf2M09
