Sri Lanka Sama Samaj Party leader Professor Tissa Witharana said that there is a conspiracy to remove the Lanka Sama Samaj Party from the Northern Lanka Coalition.
He said so while speaking at a press conference held in Kandy yesterday.
Mr. Tissa Witharana said here that even though the Sama Samaj Party is one of the seven member parties of the Uttar Lanka Coalition, his party was not invited to the first election meeting of the Uttar Lanka Coalition held yesterday (27) and he believes that it is a conspiracy to remove his party from the Uttar Lanka Coalition.
He said that he was not invited to this wedding meeting with a single word and that he came to know that there was such a meeting after he came to Kandy today.
Stating that the Sama Samaj Party is doing a lot of work in the Uttar Lanka coalition and working from the beginning to protect the country from foreign conspiracies, Mr. Tissa Vitarana said that a group of people who oppose those actions are carrying out a conspiracy to remove him from the Uttar Lanka Assembly. However, he said that his party will continue to strengthen its relations with the Uttar Lanka Sabha.
“Many of the candidates we presented to compete in the Free People’s Alliance, which is formed together with the Northern Lanka Coalition, have not been given the opportunity. Looking at it this way, our party has been similarly cut in other provinces as well. We did not receive even three candidates from Kurunegala district. Our candidates have also been removed from Matara district where the Sama Samaj Party is in power. All this shows that there is a conspiracy against Sama Samaj Party.
