Deputy Inspector General of Police, Indika Hapugoda, stated that approximately 6,632 buses from across the country are expected to arrive at Galle Face for the May Day rally organized by the National People’s Power (NPP), coinciding with World Workers’ Day.

According to DIG Hapugoda, an estimated 221,000 participants will be transported to the rally site via these buses.

To manage the influx of vehicles, designated parking areas have been arranged at several key locations in Colombo. These include the Khan Roundabout, opposite the Colombo Fort Railway Station, opposite the Regal Cinema, the old Manning Market premises, the Gamini Roundabout, Baladaksha Mawatha, Galle Middle Road, the old Ministry of Defence (MOD) area, opposite the Air Force Headquarters, Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, the Nelum Kuluna area, and the Kollupitiya area.
