The sports minister says that the authorities of the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute are currently trying to get 2 million dollars from an account in a state bank. Sri Lanka Latest News
The debate related to Sri Lanka Cricket is currently being held in the Parliament under the title of ‘Removal of the corrupt Sri Lanka Cricket Board including the Chairman’.
Making a statement at that time, the minister mentioned that one of those authorities had already left the island.
“I received a message saying that they are going to withdraw 2 million dollars from the account at the Nizadi Square branch. Since there is this issue in the parliament, the manager has asked for advice from above. We saw in the media that the Supreme Court is going to ask the opinion about the power of the Parliament. There is money laundering and obvious corruption in these accounts. We need to see what steps we can take to suspend the passports of these people. There is not one person in the country. Another question is what happens in the delay. There is no point in closing the stable after the horse is gone.”
