On the objections of the people of the country in the field of law and civil citizens, the current government is attempting to bring an anti-terrorism bill instead of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, but it has taken a decision to withdraw it in the face of public opposition, but it does not believe in that decision and even though the government has previously withdrawn bills that were opposed by the people. The opposition leader stated that they adopted their majority by utilising it.

As a result, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa stated that if the government withdraws the Anti-Terrorism Act, a clear written announcement should be issued.

Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa stated that by introducing this bill, the government hopes to prevent people from standing up for their rights, and as a result, even the supreme law of the country’s human rights are being violated.

Today, Opposition Leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa made a special statement regarding the Anti-Terrorism Act.
