Thirteen Injured in Commotion as Elephant Falls During Esala Perahera in Kataragama

The Kataragama police said that 13 people who watched the procession were injured in the commotion caused by the fall of an elephant traveling in the procession shortly after the Esala Perahera started at Ruhunu Kataragama Mahadevala. Sri Lanka Latest News

This happened at 9 pm yesterday (6) after the Perahara had started and the people who were watching the Perahara got excited and ran around and got injured.

Hospital sources said that the injured have been admitted to Kataragama Hospital and there are no critical patients among them.
