“Friendly groups are spreading rumors that I am joining Nimal Lanza’s alliance. They are only doing so to fulfill their agendas,” said Mr. Bandara, who has also worked as the private secretary of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to the Daily Mirror website.
“I have already made it clear that I am not part of anyone’s alliance.” He has said.
He said that the only way to recover the country is to give an opportunity to the youth to play politics in Sri Lanka and if this is not done, there will be more destruction.
However, Mr. Bandara said that JVP with its violent past and present situation is not a choice.
“People are fed up and fed up with the existing political parties and their members,” said Mr. Bandara.
“President Ranil Wickremesinghe has succeeded in bringing a semblance of stability to the country. He should remain in power until the next presidential election. Otherwise, there will be anarchy and chaos,” he added.
“The system change that this country needs can only become a reality under a stable youth leadership,” he added.
