Member of Parliament Mano Ganesan states that the police have taken steps to collect the information of the people in the houses in Colombo area.

He pointed out that a police officer informed him that this had started after the struggle when he inquired about it.

Mr. Mano Ganesan says that he called the Minister of Public Security and asked if this is a police state, and that the Minister was not aware of such an incident.

1/2: #SL_Police is collecting personal details visiting house2house in Colombo. An officer said it's after #Aragala activists. I said I can’t agree. I hv told my people not furnish any such information as I know at times such sensitive information end up in wrong hands. @RW_UNP pic.twitter.com/mSM3XrRVSm

2/2: Though police ordinance has room, there should be a moratorium of use during normalcy. This is peacetime. There can’t be unusual activity as such. “Is it a Police-State?” I inquired from police minister #Tiran_Alles. He promptly said he doesn’t know any such activity.
