The night mail train which was running from Jaffna to Colombo yesterday night (30) was passing by Kondavil area when an unknown group attacked with stones. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
Based on the complaints received from the passengers, the Railway Security Service officers have conducted a quick investigation and it has been revealed that the suspects have already fled from the station.
A glass shutter of one compartment was damaged in the attack, but no passengers were injured.
The police said that the facts that led to the incident have not yet been revealed and the persons responsible have not been identified.
Jaffna police are conducting further investigations.
