The Election Commission has informed the Supreme Court that due to the non-availability of sufficient funds and other facilities, the activities of holding the local government polls have been hampered as promised.
Accordingly, the Election Commission has informed that there is a difficult situation to fulfill the promise given to the Supreme Court that it will take steps to conduct the local government polls as scheduled.
These facts have been revealed through a motion submitted to the Supreme Court on behalf of the Election Commission.
