Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake announced that a CCTV camera system will be installed in and around Borulla Cemetery after the murder of prominent businessman Dinesh Shafter.
“We will first bring a proposal to the Finance Committee of the Colombo Municipal Council, and then it must be approved by the General Assembly,” she said.
Also, she said that only certain activities related to the cemetery will be given to Rakna Lanka Institute.
The decision to install CCTV came after businessman Dinesh Shafter was found dead inside the cemetery.
