IGP Mr. C.D. Wickramaratna visited the Criminal Investigation Department on the 28th yesterday to check on the investigation into the mysterious death of Dinesh Shafter, Director of the Janashakti Group.

The media spokesman said the Inspector General of Police met with senior police officers investigating the matter and gave instructions. Mr. Shafter was tied by his neck and hands in his car in the Borella Public Cemetery’s “orphan side” on the 15th, hours before leaving for England. After five hours in intensive care at the National Hospital, he died.

84 people, including his wife and mother-in-law, have given statements about Mr. Dineshe’s mysterious death.
