The home of Ruwan Wijewardene, the president’s senior advisor and a former minister of state for defence, was broken into by burglars! Thefts of expensive items, including a watch worth 13 lakhs reported!

The Kompanjaweedaya Police have received a complaint that thieves broke into the home of former Minister of State Security, Senior Advisor to the President Mr. Ruwan Wijewardena at Hyde Park Place, Colombo 02 and stole many valuable items.

It is learned that the complaint states that the theft took place within the last few days of 24-27.

It is also reported that a watch worth 13 lakhs and some ancient paintings have been stolen.

The Kompanjeveedaya police have started further investigations in this regard.
