The Homagama Watercare Technologies chemical plant that was destroyed by fire did not have an environmental protection permit! A special revelation from the Central Environment Authority! I Sri Lanka Latest News

The Central Environment Authority stated that the Watercare Technologies pvt Ltd, chemical plant which was destroyed by a fire in Homagama, Katuwana industrial area, did not have an environmental protection permit.Sri Lanka Latest News

Ajith Weerasundara, the media spokesperson of the authority said while addressing the journalists that the fire has damaged the atmosphere and the surrounding environment has also been damaged due to the accumulation of waste water.

Newswire website reported that Weerasundara further stated that the Katuwana Industrial Zone Administration should take responsibility for failing to obtain the necessary documents for the chemical plant, which has been operating since last December.
