According to the Verity Research Institute, the transparency of the government regarding the projects that have been launched in the country based on foreign loan assistance is significantly low. Sri Lanka Latest News

In particular, the International Monetary Fund has given the government a recommendation that all information related to projects with a value of more than one hundred thousand US dollars launched on foreign loan assistance should be disclosed on a public online platform.

However, the government has shown great reluctance to disclose the necessary information on such a public platform, according to Verity Research Institute.

According to them, out of those projects that have been launched in 2024, the government has disclosed information only about 40%.

It has been found that the majority of corruption in the implementation of government projects occurs in the procurement process.

Therefore, although the International Monetary Fund has recommended that every detail related to procurement should be disclosed on a public platform, currently the disclosure of information related to the procurement of such projects is at a low level of about 20%.
