Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Vidura Wickramanayake said that on the agreement of Mahanayaka Theros and all religious leaders, the religious affairs department of the ministry is working to gather information in this regard.
The Minister also said that the reason for this census is that there is a problematic situation regarding the properties, vehicles or the methods of receiving support from many temples and their administrative committees, the lack of correct information about those places, and the fact that there is no information in the ministry about the elephants in the temples.
