A special circular has been issued cancelling the leave of all the employees of Sri Lanka Electricity Board. Sri Lanka Latest News

Considering that at a time when the supply of electricity has become an essential service, the Acting General Manager of Ceylon Electricity Board, Engineer Narendra De Silva, has issued the said circular.

Accordingly, the leave of all the employees of Ceylon Electricity Board will be cancelled from yesterday (02) until further notice.

However, it is also stated in the circular that employees can take leave only with the approval of an executive officer of the first class or above attached to the concerned branch/division in case of urgent emergencies.

In addition to this, CEB employees have also taken steps to impose new regulations regarding the use of social networking websites and software through the said circular.

The Ceylon Electricity Employees Union recently said that a three-day protest had been planned from today (03) against the proposed bill to restructure the Electricity Board.

Its Chief Secretary Mr. Ranjan Jayalal said he would inform the Minister of Power to withdraw the relevant bill immediately.
