The first result of the sworn-in state ministers released! Notice to Sanath Nishantha for contempt of court!

The Court of Appeal today (08) issued a notice to the Member of Parliament Sanath Nishantha to appear in court on the 13th to present facts regarding the incident in which he allegedly made a statement insulting the court during a news conference held at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party headquarters.

Accordingly, the Court of Appeal ordered to call these two petitions on the 13th.

Petitions were taken into consideration before an Appellate Court bench consisting of Justice Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne and Justice R. Gurusinghe .

These two petitions have been filed before the Court of Appeal by Mr. Wijitha Kumara and Mr. Priyalal Sirisena.

President’s councel Mr. Upul Jayasuriya and Saliya Peiris appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioners.
