The Paffrel organization says that it will report the facts to the court against the government’s actions regarding the local government elections.
Its executive director, Mr. Rohana Hettiarachchi said that further action will be taken in this regard in conjunction with other civil organizations.
Mr. Rohana Hettiarachchi said that a serious uncertainty has arisen regarding the holding of the local government elections on March 9, and that the Ministry of Finance has not provided the necessary funds for the elections so far.
He further stated that based on these facts, some intervention will be done together with civil organizations to confirm the democratic rights of the people.
