Dr. Chamal Sanjeeva, President of the Doctors’ Union Alliance for Medical and Civil Rights, says that malnutrition in Suriyawewa area of Hambantota is at the limit of 80%.
He points out that he is ready for a debate with anyone who says these figures are false.
He also claims that not only Hambantota but also school students in the Colombo area are now suffering from nutritional deficiencies.
He further said that doctors have been banned from expressing their opinions to the media and the government is afraid of the people of the country knowing the truth.
He has expressed these views while joining the discussion on an internet channel.
