The Negombo Divisional Secretary has died mysteriously in his official residence.
Ayesh Perera, a 42-year-old married man, has lost his life.
An employee came to his office this morning to leave for an urgent duty and informed the police after seeing the divisional secretary hanging himself in a room.
Accordingly, the police have started an investigation to find out whether the death in question was a murder or a suicide.
The Negombo Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
