A senior official of the Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission said today (10) that it is possible to approve the implementation of the increase in electricity tariffs from this month as requested by the Electricity Board. Sri Lanka Latest News
The officer said that it will come into effect from the date of approval to increase the rates and also mentioned that 21 days time has been given to take the views of the public according to the Public Utilities Act.
The officer said that all arrangements have been made to take oral comments from the people on the 18th of this month at the Bandaranaike Memorial Conference Hall in Colombo and also mentioned that after that they can decide whether to approve or not.
