However, quoting Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mr. Ali Sabri’s statement to the media on Monday, the Indian media says that the Chinese ship Shi Yan 6 has not been given permission to come to Sri Lanka.
However, Indian media have reported that Mr. Sabri has stated that discussions are ongoing in this regard and that if the ship operates in accordance with Sri Lanka’s standard operating procedures, there will be no problem.
A Chinese ship, the Shi Yan 6, entered the Indian Ocean through the Strait of Malacca on September 23 and was spotted in Singapore on September 14 after leaving its home port of Guangzhou on September 10.
