Mr. Nimal Punchihewa, Chairman of the Election Commission, says that the local government election was called legally according to the constitution and the election law.
He stated that the process was done with the consent of all the members of the Election Commission.
The chairman also stated that the Election Commission will meet tomorrow to take a final decision regarding the local government elections that have been announced in the background without providing money.
