Tear gas used on university students was what assured will not be used against the army of another country by Sri Lanka! No one knew the information that attorney Suren Perera revealed!

Attorney at law Suren D. Perera told BBC Sinhala Service that it is regrettable that despite the assurance that it will not be used against the citizens of the country but is being used on citizen of the country.

Complaints have already been submitted to the Human Commission against the firing of tear gas by the police.

He said that he expects to take legal action against it in the future.

Tharindu Jayawardena, President of the Association of Young Journalists, said that the Sri Lanka Police are using expired tear gas and are using them against internationally accepted practices.
