Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa affirmed that the rights of the northern people, including their democratic, political, social, economic, basic, and human rights, will be safeguarded. He emphasized that solutions cannot be based on racial or religious differences, but rather through unity, like children of one mother.

Ilangei Tamil Arasu Kachchi Party MP Adaikalanathan and a crowd gathered to discuss development projects in the Mannar district. Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa joined this discussion led by Mr. Selvam Adaikalanathan.

Mr Premadasa assured that sustainable solutions will be provided to the issues faced by the northern people and pledged to implement the 13th Amendment. He also addressed the concerns of the fishing community, stating he would engage in diplomatic talks with relevant countries to address the issue of foreign fishing activities in Sri Lankan waters.

Furthermore, Premadasa promised justice for those oppressed by violence and a special program for women-headed households and individuals trapped by microfinance loans.
