BP has been arrested. Samantha or Amy Samantha is a 45 year old person. The police say that he is a resident of Badalgama Kehelalle and is involved in money lending business. He was also a soldier who served in the army for some time.

Police Constable 22615 Lakmal along with the Station Officer of Criminal Investigation Division of Dungalpitiya Police Mr. Jayaratne Silva led the complaint by presenting this suspect to the court.

A senior police officer said that investigations have revealed that the suspect killed the young man on a contract, suspecting that he was having an affair with his wife. The officer said that this person had been remanded in custody for some criminal charge and that this crime was committed based on the information that this person had received that his wife was having an affair at that time. The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office also mentioned that there are two cases pending against this person in the Negombo High Court. It has also been revealed that this person had come to Lellama on a motorcycle to plan the shooting before this shooting. The motorcycle and a mobile phone belonging to this person were taken into police custody for investigation purposes. The shooting of the auction takes place on the last 12 days. After the shooting, this person disappeared until he was arrested.

Investigations have revealed that although Amy Samantha committed this crime on the suspicion that his wife had an affair with the murdered youth, his wife actually had an affair with a fish businessman who was close to the murdered youth. A high-ranking police officer said that the fish businessman is a person who is shaking the shell. The officer said that further investigations are going on in this regard.
