According to a complaint made by Major General Suresh Salay, the head of State Intelligence, regarding the Channel 4 video, the British Electronic Media Regulatory Office has started an investigation.
Channel 4 recently released a video clip regarding the Easter Sunday terror attack, in which the head of the State Intelligence Department, Major General Suresh Salay, was also accused.
Mr. Suresh Salay has informed the British Electronic Media Regulatory Office that the Channel 04 channel has deliberately broadcasted this video clip to embarrass him, even though he had previously given proper answers to the allegations with evidence.
According to Mr. Pasan Weerasinghe, the lawyer of Mr. Suresh Salai, the head of state intelligence, said that the British Electronic Media Regulatory Office informed that investigations have been started regarding the relevant video.
Lawyer Mr. Pasan Weerasinghe mentioned that before the release of the relevant video clip, Channel 4 had inquired about the allegations from Mr. Suresh Salai on August 7th.
Lawyer Mr. Pasan Weerasinghe further stated that Mr. Suresh Salay has given a written notification to the channel the very next day that he denies all the allegations and that he did not stay in Sri Lanka during that period.
