Samagi Jana Balawega has taken steps to submit 3 conditions to support the 22nd Amendment.

Among those conditions, the first condition is the inclusion of the clause in the 19th amendment that persons with dual citizenship cannot be a member of parliament in the 22nd amendment.

The second condition is that the powers of the President to dissolve the Parliament in two and a half years are also included in the 22nd Constitutional Amendment.

The third condition is that in appointing representatives to the Constituent Assembly, the powers of the President and the Leader of the Opposition remain the same as in the 19th Amendment.

The Samagi Jana Balawega has decided to support the 22nd Amendment only if these three conditions are agreed.

However, by now, Pohottuwa has also submitted 2 conditions to the President in order to support the 22nd Amendment.

The first is the ability of dual citizens to serve as members of parliament.

The second condition is to include a clause that the President cannot dissolve the Parliament for four and a half years.
