A supplementary estimate was presented to Parliament this afternoon (03) to allocate the required provisions for delivering immediate relief to those affected by the disaster, Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
A special Cabinet meeting was also convened today at the Presidential Secretariat to discuss the next steps and future measures regarding the ongoing disaster situation.
The supplementary estimate was submitted to Parliament by the Leader of the House, Mr. Bimal Ratnayake.
Meanwhile, the first of the three proposals submitted to the government by Sajith yesterday has now been implemented.
