Strong opposition from the back row against the leaders of Pohottuwa who did not say a word when Roshan was sacked! I Sri Lanka Latest News

After making great sacrifices for Pohottuwa victory, Mr Roshan Ranasinghe, who came to Parliament from Polonnaruwa and won the most votes from that party, after the President removed him from the post of Sports Minister due to the revelation of corruption in the cricket organization, the majority of Pohottuwa’s MPs have expressed their strong objection to the fact that the leaders of Pohottuwa did not stand up for him. Especially the leaders of Pohottu, Mahinda Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa, have not made any statement about this expulsion so far and remained silent, which has led to the strong opposition of the Pohottu backbench MPs.

It is said that these Pohottu back row MPs who held several discussions in the Parliament yesterday met several senior members of the party and expressed their protest. It is absolutely unacceptable for the party leaders to follow such a silent policy regarding a person who has spent his personal wealth for Pohottuwa after the defeat of Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa. It is reported that these MPs have indicated that it is not acceptable.

In addition, it is said that the post of sports minister given to Roshan Ranasinghe of Pohottu to Mr Harin Fernando, who was selected from the UNP’s national list, has also led to strong opposition from these Pohottu MPs.

Accordingly, it has been learned that these back-row MPs have taken a firm decision to appear publicly on behalf of Roshan Ranasinghe in the future.
