The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka hosted a Business Delegation from India, led by the IGTD Exim Chamber of Commerce in India on 09th January 2024 at the National Chamber Auditorium. B2B discussions were successfully conducted with the business community in Sri Lanka.
The purpose of organizing the delegation was to explore and enhance export, import, trade and investment opportunities between Sri Lanka and India and the delegation was received by Mr Anura Warnakulasooriya Senior Deputy President, Mr Ruwan Fernando Council Member and Mrs Nilupul Chandrasena Secretary General/CEO of National Chamber.
The Business delegation represented diverse sectors and largely, Agriculture, Food & Beverages, spices as well as filter products. Interested delegates were seeking more opportunities to import products from Sri Lanka such as cinnamon, clove, coconut, tea, rubber, granite, and marbles as well and exporters from India were keen on seeking demand for exports for corn, garlic, millet, mustard cake, mustard oil, onion & onion powder, frozen french fries, potato, red chilly, green chilly, other agri products as well as industrial filter products such as air oil separators, basket filters, ceiling filters, cyclone separators.
Sri Lankan business entities who joined the B2B session were privileged to present and discuss their products and services-related information in depth with the Indian business delegation. During the deliberations, the Indian business delegates expressed much enthusiasm to strengthen the trade relationships with Sri Lankan business counterparts for enhancing export/import opportunities.
