Police have reported the discovery of a stock of weapons from the Weheragala tank in Kataragama.
According to police sources, the recovered items include 74 T-56 magazines, 36 T-56 LMG magazines, and several unidentified magazines, including T-81 types.
In addition, authorities found two boxes suspected to contain ammunition and two sacks believed to hold weapons.
Police stated that further investigations are currently underway regarding the recovery.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials had recently conducted a comprehensive search of the area in Modhar, where the weapons were found the other day, as part of their ongoing investigation.
