Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader, stated that the first attack on the democratic struggle of the people of this country was launched on May 9th, this year, by launching state violence, which resulted in the Prime Minister being forced to go home, and this followed by the expulsion of the President from the country.

According to the opposition leader, all those are hoping for a new journey but people of this country had to experience the state’s violence during the subsequent process.

The opposition leader also stated that a president who was elected with a 69 lakh majority do nothing and act arbitrarily in a situation where a public struggle has forced him out of the country.

The National Reform Movement held a special meeting today (25) at the opposition leader’s office in Colombo. The goal is to collect positive ideas and suggestions for making the country more progressive.

There was a gathering of political party leaders, parliamentary public representatives, and professionals. He stated that an appointed dictatorship should not be allowed to operate in this country as if it were a democracy, but that the rulers should set an example of unity and fairness.
