State Minister Sanath Nishantha died in a car accident on the Katunayake highway at 2 a.m. today! The jeep hit the container in front of it! Sri Lanka Latest News

State Minister Mr Sanath Nishantha and another person have died in a car accident on the Katunayake highway. Sri Lanka Latest News

The police said that the luxury car he was travelling in, which was driving from Katunayake towards Colombo, collided with the back of a container which was driving in the same direction.

Then the car hit the security fence.

The state minister, his security officer and the driver of the vehicle who were seriously injured in the accident were admitted to Ragama Hospital.

The police said that the state minister and the security officer lost their lives there.

The accident happened near the R 11.1 kilometre post of the Katunayake expressway at around 2 am today.

The security officer who died there was a police constable named Jayakodi.
