The department says that while the monthly income of 60.5 per cent of families has decreased, the average monthly expenditure of 91 per cent of families has increased.
But the Department of Population and Statistics states that 73.6 per cent of the families whose income has decreased have not taken any action for it and 6.6 per cent have found an additional source of income or an additional job.
The department also points out that the measures taken by families whose income has decreased include taking loans, mortgages, and asking for food or money from others.
