SriLankan Airlines Recognized as South Asia’s Leading International Airline at SATA 2023  I Sri Lanka Latest News

SriLankan Airlines was recognized as the leading international airline in South Asia at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) held on October 10, 2023 in Bangalore, India. SriLankan Airlines was also able to win the ‘Leading Airline Class – Business Class’ award at this award ceremony. Considered to be the most prestigious awards ceremony in the tourism industry in the region, the SATA Awards are organized annually, where South Asia’s hospitality and tourism companies are recognized as voted by industry professionals and consumers.

SriLankan Airlines managed to win the ‘Visitors Choice – Airline of the Year’ award at the SATA Awards held last year, and with this year’s award, SriLankan Airlines further confirmed its recognition in the South Asian region. The service has passed. Currently, SriLankan Airlines operates 140 weekly flights from the country to South Asian destinations including India, Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

SriLankan Airlines Regional Manager for India, Bangladesh and Nepal V. Ravindran commented on these achievements. “We are delighted that our efforts have been recognized in this way by our partners in South Asia. The South Asian region, which covers a significant percentage of SriLankan Airlines’ operations, has made no small contribution to our success. Being recognized in this way encourages us to continue to be at the forefront of the industry grow as a pioneer in South Asia, and continue to provide the best service and connectivity to our customers as we move into the future.”

The flights operated by SriLankan Airlines in the South Asian region cover many major cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi in India, Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan, Kathmandu in Nepal and Dhaka in Bangladesh. SriLankan Airlines is also the only international airline that covers both the destinations of Male and Gan Islands in the Maldives. This has made SriLankan Airlines a top choice for travelers to the Maldives from Europe, the Middle East, India and the Far East.
