Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have only played one T20I match so far. They met in the 2016 T20 World Cup, with the Lankans winning by six wickets while chasing 154 to win.

On August 27, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will square off in the first match of the Asia Cup 2022 campaign in Dubai. The game begins at 7.30 p.m. IST. Group A includes Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Group B includes India, Pakistan, and Hongkong. The final will take place in Dubai on September 11th. The games will be held in both Dubai and Sharjah.

Sri Lanka will host the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2022. During the tournament, 13 matches will be played. India is the tournament’s defending champion, having won the title in 2018 by defeating Bangladesh in the final. India has also won the most Asia Cup titles, with seven. Sri Lanka comes in second with five titles, while Pakistan has two.

The tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament, however, will be held in Sri Lanka. The country was supposed to host the tournament. However, due to the country’s ongoing political turmoil, they were forced to relocate the tournament to the UAE.
Because 2022 is the year of the T20 World Cup, the Asia Cup will be played in the 20-20 format.

Each team will play one match against the other teams in their group during the group stage. The top two teams in each group will advance to the super four round. Each team will play one match against the other during the super four round. The top two teams will advance to the championship game.
