According to the Sri Lanka Petroleum Distributors Association, fuel consumption in Sri Lanka has decreased by 50 percent and its president Mr. Shelton Fernando says that the current economic situation in the country is one of the reasons for the decrease in fuel consumption. Sri Lanka Latest News

He added that all types of fuel are available in the country without shortage.

In recent years, the average daily consumption of petrol in Sri Lanka is about 28000 barrels.

In 2020 compared to 2019, Sri Lanka faced a 24.4% demand contraction in petroleum imports. Due to reduced supply due to fuel demand, limited distribution through an app was forced.

Analysts have shown that fuel prices have increased dramatically and now people are consuming fuel only for essential purposes because fuel prices are rising and falling once a month.
