Sri Lankan President and Cuban Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Diplomatic Ties and Collaboration on Dengue Control

A meeting was held today (02) between Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andres Marcelo Gonzalez Gorrido, at the President’s Office.

The discussion centered on enhancing the long-standing diplomatic ties and fostering stronger relations between the two nations.

During the cordial exchange, Ambassador Gonzalez Gorrido extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Dissanayake on his recent presidential election victory. He also praised the President’s leadership and affirmed Cuba’s readiness to deepen existing cooperation with Sri Lanka.

The Cuban Ambassador further pledged continued support from his government in assisting Sri Lanka’s fight against dengue. Highlighting Cuba’s success in controlling the disease, he expressed Cuba’s willingness to share expertise and collaborate on public health initiatives aimed at eradicating dengue in Sri Lanka.
