A motion has been submitted in the Sri Lankan Parliament urging the government to make a humanitarian appeal regarding the detention of former Pakistani cricketer and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The motion was presented by opposition MP Ajith P. Perera, who called for an adjournment of Parliament to address the matter. He expressed concern over Khan’s health and overall well-being while in custody.
Citing credible reports that raise humanitarian concerns, the motion calls on the Sri Lankan government to engage with the Pakistani authorities through appropriate diplomatic and parliamentary channels.
