The Sri Lanka United Grama Niladhari Association has announced its decision to step down from Aswesuma-related duties.
Association President Nandana Ranasinghe stated that flaws in the database system used to gather beneficiary information have led to the possibility of individuals providing false statements and being mistakenly included as Aswesuma beneficiaries.
He further emphasized that this trade union action is being carried out in protest, as despite informing the previous government about these errors and urging corrections, the current administration has also failed to take necessary steps to address them.
